
The Winter School at LUMS offers students a vibrant campus experience with thoughtfully designed interdisciplinary courses and activities. Open to students aged 14 to 19, the programme builds a strong academic foundation while encouraging innovative thinking and practical skill development.
Through this academic and creative mix, students will explore new passions, strengthen existing interests, and gain valuable exposure to different fields. This well-rounded experience not only enriches personal growth but also adds strength to future undergraduate applications, ensuring participants are well-prepared for their academic journey.
Eligibility: Students from O-Level, Matriculation, IB MYP, A-Level, Intermediate (FA/FSc), IB DP, and equivalent programmes can apply.
Dates: December 22, 2025 to January 2, 2026
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (on campus at LUMS).
Programme Structure: Over two weeks, students will be immersed in their chosen core course along with four interest-based courses.
Please note: The Winter School at LUMS does not provide accommodation. Participants are responsible for arranging their own lodging.
- Communicating for Effect: Speaking and Writing to Influence Outcomes:
Learn how to express ideas with clarity and confidence. This course builds your persuasive speaking and writing skills, helping you influence audiences in academic, professional, and everyday settings.
- Thinking and Problem Solving in the Real World:
Sharpen your ability to think critically and solve challenges creatively. Through real-life cases and activities, you will practice analysing complex situations, generating solutions, and making effective decisions.
Students will explore the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including idea generation, business planning, and pitching. The course will challenge them to think innovatively and practically about starting and managing a business.
Learn Python programming basics, including variables, loops, and functions, through hands-on exercises. This beginner-friendly course builds a foundation in data science, web development, and more - no prior experience is required.
Discover the basics of graphic design using Canva. This hands-on course will teach you how to create eye-catching posters, presentations, and social media content with simple tools.
This immersive course takes students on a journey through Lahore's rich history, architecture, and culture. By participating in critical class discussions and examining popular media centered on the city, they will explore its iconic landmarks and gain insight into its vibrant heritage.
This course examines the scientific basis of climate change, its environmental and societal impacts, and the policy responses needed to mitigate it. Students will explore global case studies and discuss actionable strategies for the future.
